A magical snow-covered winter rest or snow sports and fun? You'll find both here. The Kaunertal and the Tyrolean Oberland entice with numerous ski areas, including the snow-sure Kaunertal Glacier, but also with plenty of gentle winter recreation.

Skiing in the Kaunertal

The Kaunertal itself offers you two ski areas: the family-friendly Winterberg Fendels and the high-alpine Kaunertal Glacier, where the slopes are open from October to May. You can find even more fun on the slopes in nearby Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, which you can reach in 20 minutes, or in charming Nauders on the border with South Tyrol.

Winter hiking & snowshoe tours

Every step is a sigh of relief, every flake a piece of happiness. The glitter accompanies you at every turn. Atmospheric winter hiking trails lead you through the winter landscapes of the Kaunertal and the Kaunergrat Nature Park, which extends above Apart Naturnah.

Cross-country skiing

Classic, skating and barrier-free: the Kaunertal is one of Tyrol's cross-country skiing specialists. The cross-country ski trail network in the Kaunertal and around the nature park house at Gachenblick has been awarded the Tyrolean cross-country ski trail seal of approval.

  • By public transport to the ski area? No problem, the ski bus to Winterberg Fendels/Kaunertal Glacier stops just 200 meters from the house.
  • Do you prefer to go off-piste as a cross-country skier or with snowshoes? It's a good thing that Kauns and Apart Naturnah are located in the middle of the Kaunergrat Nature Park.

Sauna, wellness, leisure in any weather

In Feichten in the Kaunertal, you can relax in the natural swimming pool and enjoy the wide range of leisure activities on offer at Quellalpin. There you will find a family-friendly indoor pool, a bouldering hall, a bowling alley, a beach volleyball court and an interesting exhibition. The sauna area is particularly popular with adults, where you can relax undisturbed in a variety of saunas and natural relaxation rooms.

Ski tours

Pleasure tours, designated piste tours or on the mountain guide's rope to the queen of the Kaunertal, the Weisseespitze at almost 4,000 meters. The choice of ski tours here in the region is huge and some tours are almost deserted.
